MedStar continues to move toward full restoration of major IT systems, while maintaining its promise to meet the care needs of the communities we serve. Our priority focus throughout this event has been, and continues to be, providing high quality, safe patient care and meeting the needs of our communities. Since Monday morning, our volume is near normal levels including:
- Caring for an average of 3,380 patients a day in our 10 hospitals
- Treating nearly 4,000 patients in our emergency departments
- Performing more than 1,000 surgeries
- Welcoming more than 100 babies into the world
As we have said in prior statements, our doors remain open with a few exceptions. In those unique exceptions, our protocols for treatment are conservative and driven solely by what is in the best interest of patient care. We are also pleased that our analysis continues to show that no patient or associate data have been compromised.
We want to continue to express our sincere gratitude for the tireless efforts that our IT systems team, clinicians, and associates have shown. Their level of dedication, creativity and commitment to our patients is truly inspirational. We are gratified and touched by the continued support from our patients, their families, and the communities we serve.
